What is the Counselling Procedure at NFSU?
The admission process at NFSU follows a merit-cum-choice system, where your rank in the merit list will be taken into consideration first along with your preferred academic program choices. During the counseling session, you will have an opportunity to discuss and finalize your program preferences based on your merit number and the availability of a seat in that category/campus.
Counseling Categories at a Glance:
1. Call for Counseling:
- The candidate must be present for counseling.
- This category indicates a high likelihood of securing admission.
2. Call for Counseling (Waiting):
- The candidate must be present for counseling.
- Admission is not guaranteed, as it depends on seat availability.
3. Waiting:
- The candidate will be called for counseling later if any seats remain vacant after the first round of counseling.
- This category allows a chance for admission at a later stage, depending on availability.
Is my Presence necessary during Counselling at NFSU?
To attend the counseling session, the candidate must be physically present on the specified date and venue mentioned above. The session starts at 11:00 AM, but it's very important for all candidates to reach the venue by 10:30 AM. If you don't arrive on time, it will be noted as your absence. Seat allotment is based on merit and your presence during your turn is crucial.
If you're absent when your turn comes up, your admission offer for the chosen program will be canceled. There won't be any chance to request or communicate about your admission after that. So, it's really important to be on time to ensure you are eligible and can participate in the counseling process.
What if I'm Unable to Present during Counselling at NFSU?
In case the candidate cannot attend the counseling session due to unexpected situations or a medical emergency, they can authorize their parents/guardians to go on their behalf. They need to provide a written consent with their signature for this.
In exceptional cases where it's impossible for anyone to attend in person, the candidate must inform NFSU through email (admissions_gnr@nfsu.ac.in) at least 2-3 days before the scheduled session. They should include valid supporting evidence. If approved, they can participate in the counseling session online via Google Meet. But please note, such permissions are only granted in rare cases with valid reasons.
If any candidate fails to attend the counseling session either physically or online (with prior permission), they will lose their chance to get admission in the chosen program. No further requests or communications regarding this matter will be considered.
