The lab offers data extraction services from a variety of electronic devices, including computers, hard drives, SIM cards, microSD cards, tablets, and mobile phones. In the past, according to Commissioner Sidhu, police had to travel to the state cybercrime cell's Digital Investigation Training and Analysis Centre (DITAC) lab in Mohali to obtain these services for various cases, which led to delays in sending the results to the appropriate districts because of the high volume of work.

According to Sidhu, the Ludhiana lab would also help with the investigation of cybercrimes and quick inquiries. He continued by saying that the lab will end delays in looking at electrical gadgets and speed up examinations.

Summary:

Mandeep Singh Sidhy, the Ludhiana Police Commissioner, inaugurated a brand-new digital forensic lab on April 15 specifically for the Ludhiana region. It is anticipated that this new facility would ease the workload on the current Mohali lab and speed up investigations. Data extraction from numerous electronic devices, including laptops, hard drives, tablets, smartphones, and more, is one of the services our lab provides.
Prior to this, the Ludhiana police had substantial delays in their investigations since they had to wait months for forensic findings from the Mohali lab.
