Various Types of Ammunition:

  1. Rimfire Ammunition:

Rim fire Ammunition consists of a short brass tube; generally 0.22 inch in diameter close at one end.

Primer is distributed to the circumference of the head of the Cartridge case.

Rimfire ammunition is limited to low pressure loads and they are not reloadable.

  1. Centrefire Ammunition:

It is also generally made from brass, but the head is thick and heavy with a central recess or pocket for the primer cap.

Primer distributed to the center of the cartridge case.

They are fired using either mechanical or electronic means to ignite the prime.

It consists of a bullet with the propellant formed around the bullet as a single solid piece and there is no cartridge case.

  1. Blank Ammunition:

It is exactly the same as bulleted ammunition except for the emission of the missile.

It produces exact effects like gunshot sound and muzzle flash but doesn’t shoot any bullets
